Politics: He knows the burdens which the Elhalyn Domain are beginning to place on him. His grandfather - who hates politics (he feels cheated by the Council) - has tried to keep him from being the center of attention, either by the Council or from any woman of the Domains who'd like to get her claws on an Elhalyn male. As Lorill Elhalyn has finally lost his sanity (or what was left of his sanity, anyhow), Rory has a little more freedom and has decided he would like to be part of the scene.
Personality: Naturally charming, but very quiet and thoughtful. His charm was once innocent but he's starting to learn the influence he has, and is turning into a bit of a ladies' man. Despite being raised by his grandfather, he dislikes him, and would appreciate it if the eccentric old fool would just die off!
Physical Description: Tall (6'1") and "irresistibly" handsome with dark, curling hair. His dark blue-gray eyes change between a clear sky-blue and a stormy gray, depending on his thoughts and emotions. His smile is a little lopsided, and draws more to the left, showing more than a mere trace of a highly mischievous spirit. He is very fit and healthy, both from being active, riding horses and being a cadet in the Guards. In otherwords, this guy is very attractive with a nice body! He has six-fingered hands that denote both his chieri and Ardais ancestry.
History:
Roderick-Lewis Stefan Elhalyn y Elhalyn was born at midwinter to Cassilda Elhalyn y Ardais and Lewis-Lorill Rafeal Elhalyn y Aillard. A year later, Rohana was born, and two years after her birth, Aliciane and Felix decided to
enter the world, each within a year of one another. The four children lived well in Castle Elhalyn, until the untimely and mysterious death of their parents. Rory was six at the time, but his younger siblings have little to no memory of Lewis and Cassilda Elhalyn. The four children went into the care of their grandparents, Lorill and Javanne who were maintaining Halyn House. Javanne was a very doting grandmother and spoiled the younger three children badly, but Rory was always expected to follow his grandfather around to learn the duties that would one day be expected of him. At nine years old, possibly an idea of his grandfather's on how to keep him from the Council, Rory was fostered at Serrais with his Ridenow cousins. Being away from his grandfather helped a great deal in his development as an individual. When he was twelve, and was still going through threshold sickness, he was sent to Arilinn Tower to be given training for his Elhalyn Gift. He worked in the Tower for a year, but both he and his grandfather realized that he was not meant for laran work, and he went back to his sheltered life in Halyn House. Late in his fourteenth year he entered the Guards, once more thankful to be released from his grandfather's ideas that he should be hidden from public view. Lorill Elhalyn has recently become senile and deranged, and is worse than just eccentric. This has left an opening for Rory to make himself known to the Comyn Council, which he'll probably manage sometime in the near future.
Pets: a pitch black stallion affectionately named Daredevil for more than one reason!
